ABOUT THE project

This mood board grew out of a visit to Art Basel in Miami, where I photographed a series of furniture pieces on display. Using those images, I built a mood board that brings the individual pieces together into one cohesive space rooted in Miami Art Deco design.

the concept

Miami's Art Deco heritage, with its geometry, curved forms, and sense of glamour, felt like the natural setting to explore. Within it, I wanted to see what happens when the rigidity of Deco geometry meets the organic flow of water and light.

I worked within a strict monochrome palette of blues and teals to create a deep, psychological sense of calm. Against it, I set natural textures like stone, reflective water, and diffused light alongside hard-edged tables and rhythmic architectural patterns. Placed in a shared context, the pieces begin to respond to one another. The result reimagines standalone works as parts of a unified interior and shows how context can change the way we see a design.

A modern, glass oval table with a textured surface and four metal legs, casting intricate shadow patterns on a light-colored concrete floor.
A mustard green velvet sofa with rounded armrests and a matching cushion, positioned on a white carpet in a modern interior space.
Art installation featuring large illuminated rectangular structures in blue and yellow, with cylindrical shapes, set against a yellow background.
Two large metallic silver-rowed feather sculptures mounted on white rods against a plain white wall.
